An Analyst of Trading Platforms
The functions of a Financial Analyst
Financial Analysts are a vital source of information for different stakeholders operating in financial markets, whether they are Traders, Sales Traders, or Executive Traders. They work for financial groups that hire various types of Traders, for example in stock exchange organizations, in banks, or in hedge funds. Financial Analysts are generally specialized in certain types of assets or sectors, which they study during their training. They may focus their work with certain currencies, raw materials, in gas, in the luxury goods sector, etc.
Their role consists of performing long term, in depth asset analysis according to mathematic and macroeconomic principals. Analysts don’t discount current events (on a global or local scale) when considering criteria for evaluations. For example, a Financial Analyst who works with oil and gasoline assets has a comprehensive understanding of the geopolitics surrounding fossil fuels.
The analysis of assets is then transmitted to actors in market finance (for example, Traders or Sales Traders) who work in association with the Financial Analyst. According to the structure of the company, analysts may work in tandem with brokers or communicate their results through the intermediary of a Sales Trader.
Financial Analysts’ Education and Wages
Financial Analysts must be competent in numerous fields: they must have a perfect understanding of market finance, as well as a solid comprehension of accounting, financial analysis, and business finance. According to their area of specialization, awareness of geopolitics, politics and current events are also necessary.
These multiple, essential skills explain why most Financial Analysts are graduates from schools of commerce that provide a generalized curriculum and help in developing interpersonal and communicative skills. Though the CIT cannot provide complete training for Financial Analysts, it offers thorough instruction in theory and practical training that prepares analysts efficiently. It would be wise to combine a commercial training program in a commerce school with the CIT’s Become a Trader program. The work of a Financial Analyst is both complex and extremely important for the functioning of financial markets. Financial Analysts are well paid for their work, making 40,000 Euros upon hiring and over 60,000 Euros after three years of experience. However, as it is a research profession, Financial Analysts do not receive bonuses, save for in exceptional circumstances.
